We are back in Utah, least the kids and I are. Brady is in Sacramento working. He will join us on the 18th and we will officially be on our way to Cali on the 20th. Though in theory I have almost 2 weeks, it wont really work out to be that long. I have meetings at work tomorrow morning and will start packing in the afternoon. I coach an early morning class on wed and then will spend most of that day packing. Then Thursday morning I am off to Cedar City for Summer Games, and get back Sunday morning just in time to teach sharing time. Then I will pack and run last minute errands Monday and Tuesday, the movers will be here Wed and Thursday, I have state meet Friday and Saturday, and Sunday we fly to Sacramento.

I felt very optimistic this morning before leaving Sacramento, but upon walking in the front door, the enormity of the project that lays before me truly hit me. What have I gotten myself into?

Well wish me luck, off to scriptures and prayers then bed. Lots to get done and no time to waste.

The jelly belly factory

I am excited. We found our new home, for the next 2 years, maybe longer. It is awesome. It is perfect for us. It is an old home, built in 1955. It has been completely updated inside and out. The neighborhood is old and well established, as well as very family friendly. It will be perfect for us to start our new life here in California.

Front gate with electric lock and intercom- have to be buzzed into front courtyard.

Front courtyard with fountain

Large Kitchen with double oven, center island, and LOTS of storage

Built in banquette

Did I say LOTS of storage?

Formal Dining- LOTS of storage, open to living room with a fireplace. Opens to back patio.

Back patio, 2 pergola's, 3 exits to back from living room, family room, and boys bedroom.

Outdoor bathroom

Under one of the pergolas, large tile counter/table plus sink and fridge.

Citrus trees- a lemon, lime and some kind of tangerine/nectarine thing

And last but not least- a pool!!!!! We are all very excited about this part.

So there are lots of mixed feed back on the area. It's not the "ideal" area. That would be Folsom or el Dorado Hills. Thats like North Orem vs. Lindon or Highland. But the house is a GREAT deal and we recognize the Lords hand in how we found the house. It wasn't even on our radar. I kinda called by mistake, the Landlord called me back, we talked for a while, made an appointment and then did a drive by. I said no upon initial drive through the neighborhood. When getting ready to go to the appointment, we almost didn't go. But decided what the heck. We walked in and looked at each other and said, "This is it." And we have seen LOTS of places. I think we are up around 15-20 houses either seen or driven by. We applied, put down our money for a credit check and waited to see if we were "chosen" of the 4 families that applied. She called us today to tell us the house is our and we take occupancy on 11th of June.

We got THE house.... More info and pictures to follow!
