We had a lot of fun in St. George. We got there on Saturday and were sad to find out the pool heater was broken. But despite it only being in the mid 60's the kids hit the pool EVERYDAY!!! The house Brady's sister chose for us was perfect. It had a large kitchen and gathering room, a game room, theater, and a bedroom for each family plus additional bedrooms, one for the boys and one for the girls. There were also 4 bathrooms. Needless to say there was a ton of space and plenty to do.

We went hiking, shopping, got main-pedis, (even Uncle Chad,) went to Fiesta Fun Center, and the Aquatic Center, and just spent lots of time hanging out and having fun. The kids had a blast and cried when we had too leave their cousins. The plan was to stay until Thursday, but a nasty Spring Blizzard changed those plans. The Denver group had to leave a day early to beat the storm and Grandmas and Grandpa had to get back to work. Brady had to go to Denver for work, so the kids and I left late to make the 3 1/2 hour drive home by ourselves. It went well, though the 44 ounce Mt. dew I drank to help me stay awake kept me up til 3 am (2 1/2 hours after we got home.)

I am really glad we went. Like many of our other trips focused around family gatherings, it's not about what you do, but rather who you spend your time with. We are very grateful to Brenda and Chad for making this vacation possible. We love and miss you guys!!!

We are headed to St. George this weekend. Brenda and Chad have rented a house down there for 5 days and have invited all of us to join them. We are very excited and very grateful to them. All of Bradys immediate family will be there which hasn't happened since Mexico. ( I think) Anyway- This is a totally busy week for me, and somewhere in here I have to fit in packing for the trip. I will spend today @ meetings and coaching, tomorrow on a job site with Brady, and Friday is my girls 1st meet. Then we leave Saturday.

I got K out of school early yesterday to go swimsuit shopping. It was a fun girls bonding afternoon. Her and I don't get enough of those. Hopefully we'll have more chances in St. George. We are going to do a spa day with Brendas girls. Pedis, manis and maybe a facial.
The house has a pool, the kids can't wait. They are counting down the days.

I read Amy's blog this morning about being a plant. I have never really been that way. Anytime Mom comes to visit I have notice that is the first thing she does every morning. She walks around opening all the drapes and blinds.

I have never been that way, but in this new house I am. I walk through the house and open all the blinds and curtains, even in rooms I spend no time in. Last night after sunset as I walked around closing the blinds, Katrina asked me what I was doing, and why if I was just going to close them again, I don't just leave them closed.

Brady and I have been discussing the changes in our family in the last 2 weeks since we moved into our new home. It is almost as if we have just awoken from a long winters nap. Since Elk Ridge, we have kinda just flowed threw life. Just going where the winds and tide have taken us. We are suddenly awake. I cant really explain it. We wake early (for us) and have no trouble getting out of bed. The morning is spent with the children before they leave for school, then we spend time together in the great room discussing our day and plans before Brady starts his long commute down the stairs and I begin my day of laundry, cleaning, and baking.

The changes are so little but are so drastic at the same time it is hard to put my finger on, but we all feel it. The kids love it here as do we. I am anxious for church this Sunday, our 1st in the new ward, and to begin our new social life as well.

So Amy, thanks for the analogy. I am also a plant, a perennial that has just come up from a long winters hibernation.

I LOVE my new house.

I love my kitchen... I love my great room...
My kids LOVE the back yard and their new school.

My husband loves his new office!

We LOVE our new house.

It's been along time since I felt so much at home in a house. I have taken the last 2 weeks off work at the gym and am dreading going back tonight. I love the gym and my girls but with a 45 minute communte both ways, it's going to be a challenge. My favorite thing about the house is Brady's office is in the corner of the basement, far away from where my life as house wife exist. I love him dearly but for the last several years of him working from home, my life as "stay at home mom" has been completely different. There is no just running out of the house to do errands, unplanned afternoons with the girls, or just sitting on the couch reading a book all afternoon and quickly running around at 4:30 cleaning up and starting dinner just before "Daddy comes home." All you stay at home moms know what I'm talking about.

Anyway with him in the basement, I am on my own to clean house, fix lunch, and do the laundry. I have even been able to watch Good Thing Utah a couple mornings!!!

We decided we would use the leather couch in the family room downstairs since that is where the theater is and it has recliners in it. So I found another set at the clearance outlet for $499, This a picture of the couch. I got the sofa and the love seat. It's not really this red. Its more of a brick red. The room has white walls, a wall of windows and white carpet, and a huge 2 story brick fire place. It is going to need some color. Bold choice I know, but I think it will be fun. I sold my office set today which funded this purchase.

I am really excited. I have bought all new furniture using only money from selling stuff I already owned and don't use or need anymore. Brady thinks I'm on to something here and wants me to figure out how to turn this into a business. We'll see....

But in the mean time I have started a new online business. Check in out www.atozcyberbuy.com
