By "we" I mean Megan, Liz and me, along with Megans mother in law Sandy adn some help from my kids, with constant banter from Milo and Thomas in the background. Did you know snickerdooled dough (despite what the people at the Pink Cookie Company say on the Food Network) is not the same as sugar cookie dough, and is way to sticky to rollout and cut?
So we added 4 extra cups of flour, but they were still yummy!!! And another lesson, Elizabeth has never melted chocolate chips before, and as we all know.... EVERYONE screws that up the 1st time!!! And Megan is way picky about mixing frosting colors? But all in all we had a blast. WE actually had an Oborn sister get together with out one blow up. There was a little button pushing, but it was a lot of fun.
We made 8 dz sugar cookies, a double batch of peanut butter-chocolate bars, 7 layer bars and it wouldn't be Christmas baking without the stainglass windows.
It went on all day! It was really fun to all get together again. We havent had the chance since Liz and Allen moved out. I can't believe how big Milo is getting. I watched him while Meg and LIz ran to the store. He laid in my lap and we talked to eachother. He just babbled and smiled up at me. It was really fun.
We did a quick cleaning of the house and the kids vaccumed everywhere. Now that Thomas is mobile, "Megan and Thomas are coming over" brings a whole new meaning. He is really getting quick at getting where he wants to... if he wants being the key. He is just as happy to sit on the floor with his arms in the air and scream at you til you come get him. He has us all wrapped around his fingers!!
