Last weekend I travelled to Cedar City with 4 other coaches to attend Utah's Summer Games. We hds 7- level 4 gymnasts, 6- level 5's and 3- level 6's. The meet was a lot of fun, with our 4's starting on Friday afternoon, and finishing Saturday evening with our 6's. Summer Games is always the favorite meet of every season for the girls and their parents. The girls like it because the judges seem to be a little friendlier and EVERYONE takes home metals on all 4 events and all around. The parents love it because there are actual chairs to sit on, rather than cramming into the corner of little gyms, and sitting on stacked mats with their knees by their ears. The girls did really well, with Cali (above) making the cover of the local paper!!! We had a lot of fun, with everything crammed into a small amount of time. I was hoping to get to visit with Grandma Gwynne while I was there but with the meet schedule, then leaving early Sunday morning, time didn't permit it. I'll have to try again next time we are down there.

ReplyDeleteI was still waiting for your phone-call!! Darn...we're going to Opening Ceremonies tomorrow to look for your group. But I geuss we'll just cheer when they say your team name:)
